Hello C5ers!
Ill be attending and speaking at the Social Tech Live Conference in July. The main conference is going to be at Florida International University, Miami, Florida July 16th - 17th, 2016.
Two weeks ago we explained how concrete5's versioning works. This week we are giving you an overview of all of our versioning including development versions.
Become familiar with the new features in version 8 and be a pillar of the community. Getting involved is easy. We want your help with testing, coding, and exploring the potential of version 8!
Ready to get started?
We love our community members. These "Featured Members" are a way for us to shine a light on the people who make up our great community.
Meet Willem. He's a veteran contributor to the concrete5 community. His most recent contribution efforts is with the security, PRB, and certification.
Now, let's hear from Willem...
My dad used to tell a story of his brilliant lead programmer, Larry. He had gone dark for weeks to write the logic for some important calculation that was critical to the key project. Dad had to show progress. Lots of money had been spent and the client needed to see the magic happen. Larry declared himself "Done!" and sat my Dad down for a demo.
Weve got huge plans and big expectations for version 8, and you need to know all about them.
In order for everyone to understand and follow Semantic Versioning 2.0 we are going to remove the leading 5 from our versioning. The next major version of concrete5 is going to be Version 8.0.0.
You might know Google as a search engine, but the company behind it has made investments in everything from robotics and artificial intelligence to travel and data mining. You may not be able to play with those Google robots anytime soon, but you can take advantage of other technological innovations the company has made.
You have about 15 seconds to impress a visitor to your website and make them want to stay. You can do this in many ways including the design, page speed, and content. However, one overlooked method to optimize your website is to optimize your 404 error page.
A 404 error occurs when a visitor lands on a page that doesn't exist and the standard page is just the browser telling you that the page can't be found. This standard page certainly isn't going to impress anyone.
With the features that exist even in legacy version 6, plenty of proud site owners have built powerful private websites to help their organization communicate internally. Version 8 is right around the corner and includes a way to easily manage structured centralized content (Express). Weve already got most of the parts, so were putting some love into revisiting the My Account area to enable team collaboration. As I mentioned at the start of the year, it is concrete5s time to graduate from WCM to ECM.
