Happy Holidays, Concrete CMS community! As we wrap up the year, we’re sharing highlights from our December Town Hall, which showcased the latest updates, reflections, and insights for the season. For those who couldn’t join live, here’s your quick recap.

Franz kicked things off with warm holiday wishes and gratitude for the vibrant Concrete CMS community. Though he was traveling and unable to host live, his message underscored the collective achievements and growth we’ve seen this year.

What’s New in CMS 9.3.8?

Earlier this month, we released Concrete CMS 9.3.8, and Andy took a moment to share some of the key updates in this latest point release. While it doesn’t introduce major security changes, it does include bug fixes and enhancements designed to improve everyday functionality.

Highlights from the Release

  • Better Attribute Filtering: Now ensures the is_featured flag behaves as expected, avoiding errors when filtering by attributes that aren’t indexed.
  • Improved Multilingual Stacks: Enhanced dashboard clarity when working with locale-specific stacks in multilingual environments.
  • REST API Permissions Fixes: Addressed issues where non-super-admin users encountered errors due to incorrect method calls.
  • Bug Fixes Galore: From document library sorting to image dimensions in CKEditor, this release is packed with small but meaningful improvements.

Reflections and Gratitude

It’s been a busy December for everyone, but the core team and the Peer Review Board (PRB) have been hard at work. This month, we want to extend special thanks to JohntheFish, mnakalay, and enlil for their outstanding contributions and dedication to improving the Concrete CMS experience. Your efforts make a huge difference, and we deeply appreciate everything you do for the community.

As we head into the new year, we’re thankful for the collaboration, creativity, and community spirit that define Concrete CMS.

What’s Next?

While the December Town Hall marked the end of live sessions for 2024, January promises fresh updates, exciting plans, and a renewed commitment to building a better web. Until then, we encourage everyone to explore the updates in CMS 9.3.8 and let us know your thoughts.

From all of us at Concrete CMS, have a safe and joyful holiday season. Here’s to a productive and inspiring 2025!
